Temple Body Arts® Yoga, created by Sofiah Thom has continued to evolve since 2012. This Yoga Path seeks to bring the ancient yogic arts to contemporary life in the rise of the divine feminine.
Temple Body Arts® Yoga comprises a dynamic fusion of hatha-based alignment, vinyasa-flow, tantric philosophy and expressive dance to access your creative potential and empower the graceful warrior within.
The lineage of Danyasa Yoga Arts includes Anusara Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga, as well as the teachings of Shiva Rea, Max Strom, John Friend, and Sianna Sherman, Sally Kempton and Gabrielle Roth, Melissa Michaels, Vinn Marti, and Anna Halprin among others. Anusara Yoga is a branch of Hatha yoga (Iyengar Yoga) that integrates deep spiritual teachings and precise principles of alignment into the practice. At the heart of Anusara Yoga are its life-affirming principles of “Opening to Grace” and “Aligning with the Divine.” When Sofiah experienced this principle, she heard a voice that said “This is your Yoga.” Temple Body Arts® Yoga infuses this philosophy into all of its practices and honors the myriad of roots and lineages that have walked this evolutionary path and prepared the soil for us to Live Artfully.
At the RYT-200 Level Training, we offer the foundation and roots of yoga through embodiment, teaching, and leading. Within asana practice, we focus on physical, mental, and spiritual alignment within each posture. You will learn the Temple Body Arts® Yoga Signature Flow, the Five Fold Path and the art of teaching as you begin to guide others into the feminine mysteries.
This training also weaves much of the core Teachings and tools of the Temple Body Arts® School for Divine Feminine Leadership, birthed in 2017, and is the perfect foundation if you desire to go deeper into the feminine mysteries as a feminine leader. You will explore ecstatic expression and spontaneous movement as well as learn to embody different archetypes of the Hindu Goddesses of Yoga. As Temple Body Arts® Yoga teachers, we invite students to move beyond the mat and to awaken creative power through guided movement journeys.
The Temple Body Arts® Yoga Path is the path of Living Artfully, which is guided by the four E’s: Embody, Empower, Express, and Evolve. Above all, as a Temple Body Arts® Yoga Teacher, you are here to listen to the wisdom of your body and dance your highest dreams and visions into form.
