Retreat Chef
Danyasa is a small, eco-chic hotel and retreat center in the heart of the small beach town of Dominical, Costa Rica, offering eco-friendly accommodations, retreats, daily yoga, and a clothing, jewelry, and accessories boutique.

We are so excited for our upcoming season and have retreats back to back starting with a New Years Eve Retreat and all the way through to May, 2024.
Applicants must be skilled at vegetarian/vegan recipes and willing to work with eggs and fish, cooking for 10 – 35 people, plus 2 – 6 staff members. Spanish language skills are helpful but optional. Applicant must be communicative, easygoing, and able to flow gracefully through long hours, the heat of Costa Rica, and shifts in retreat schedules and eaters’ needs.
The chef will be responsible for the following:
BEFORE THE EVENT:
– Developing menus, and ingredient and equipment orders.
– Coordinating with assistant chefs or kitchen help.
– Attending team meetings related to the event.
DURING THE EVENT:
– Ordering food and ingredients as needed.
– Preparation and serving of lunch and dinner daily on time.
– Additional meals for Danyasa staff (2 -6 people) at no additional charge.
– Posting food photos and tagging Danyasa social media accounts.
POST EVENT:
– Sharing feedback/debriefing.
– Payment of assistant chefs, if any.
Danyasa will pay for all ingredients and provide cooking equipment.
Danyasa will provide a private, air-conditioned room for the duration of the training.
Danyasa will provide a kitchen assistant for cleaning and prep work
(not a chef).
Danyasa will provide serving assistance at all meals.
